Incident Report Before Arkham Origins Incidentīane was one of the eight assassins that were hired by Joker, under the guise of the city's biggest mob boss, Black Mask, to kill Batman for fifty million dollars on Christmas Eve. He believed this to be the same creature that plagued his nightmares and concluded that his fate was to find and defeat the creature and conquer Gotham City, utilizing his criminal empire. The tests indicated that it would cause gradual memory loss, and he planned to get willing volunteers for further testing as he continued perfecting the formula to nullify it.īane heard from Bird, who had a history in the Gotham City criminal underworld, that there were rumors of a Bat-like creature fighting crime in the city. Bane decided to try to cease his addiction by creating the variant TN-1. He, however, despised the addiction and saw it as a weakness, going as far as tracking down and slaughtering the drug's original manufacturers. Bane also soon became an addict to Venom and would experiment with the drug to feed his appetite. His actions led to him becoming a suspected terrorist, subversive, mass murderer, drug dealer, and clinical psycho, as well as becoming notorious enough to have a file within INTERPOL's criminal database.

It could increase an individual's muscle mass, stamina, durability, and adrenal levels to inhuman levels. The Jesuit priest told him that he dreamed of the United States Gotham City, and his father had the same dreams before he died, claiming that people's destinies get fulfilled in that place and that refugees from Santa Prisca helped build the city 300 years ago. Eventually, he became the prison boss and wholly controlled the inmates.īane would get plagued by intense nightmares about a city guarded by a dark, shadowy creature resembling a bat. Thanks to the prison's location and diverse population, Bane also learned several languages, including English, Latin, Portuguese, and Spanish. He read books, worked out in the prison gym, and learned from inmates, including a Jesuit priest who taught him the classics.
